Total Home Environment will be attending NSBRC's January 2025 show!
There will be three full days of master classes, case studies, seminars, as well as an expert line-up. With over 200 exhibitors showcasing the latest building products and services, this event is perfect for kick-starting your self-build or renovation project.
Our experts will be on stand 58 for 1:1 advice and exhibiting our award winning systems:

Aside from seminars there will also be a LIVE Case Study on Saturday 12pm in the Sustainability Theatre where you can hear first-hand from self builders Murray and Lucy on how they designed their stunning rustic farmhoue to deliver the look and feel they wanted with energy-efficient features. Whether your motivation is saving the environment or saving money, the programme of Eco Workshops should have the answers you’re looking for! You should gain a wealth of independent and informed advice and information on the latest energy-efficient technologies, products and services; sustainability; environmentally responsible building principals and retrofitting of existing properties.
Each of the Eco Workshops focuses on a particular phase or aspect of energy-efficient homebuilding, so you can pick and choose which workshops to attend that are most relevant to your particular project.

Total Home Environment will take part in the Self Build Workshop by Carpenter Oak held at the National Selfbuild & Renovation Centre in Swindon.
Throughout the day, you will attend workshops and talks discussing every aspect of building with timber, from design considerations to material choices, as well as advice on finance and energy efficient heating and ventilation solutions.

Open all year round this department store for self-builders and renovators brings together 67,000sqft of products, services and advice all under one roof. No longer will you be restricted to particular show dates when you can come and see our products. Check out this video on what to expect.
No longer will you be fighting crowds… you can wander at your leisure or on a Friday and Sunday there are guided tours of the Renovation House and a Self Build Educational Tour each Saturday. Once you register, you will be given a barcode scanner, to easily request specific information on the products that are of interest to you. Why not bring your architect or builder along as well and whilst relaxing in the café (Open 10am-3pm), discuss the design of your dream home with all the materials to hand?
A typical visit will take about three to four hours and the following exhibits can be visited:

LOCATION
Located just off J16 of the M4 at Swindon, the store is open 10am -5.30pm Tuesday to Saturday and until 4.30pm on Sunday. Parking is free and there is overflow parking behind the centre if the front area is full. If you would like to spend more time there over a few days, there are plenty of hotels and guest houses nearby. In addition there is a Coffee Shop on site, serving hot and cold drinks and light snacks.
ENTRY
This is free unless attending a course or turning up at the door for shows. Do bring your own headphones if you want to listen to the audio tour on your smartphone and a mask.

WORKSHOP

The Passivhaus standard is designed to deliver comfort, quality and lower running costs in any type of building. In partnership with the Passivhaus Trust You will learn how to do this through building orientation to take advantage of the sun, the right insulative fabrics, airtightness principles, wholehouse heat recovery ventilation for good indoor air-quality and screening to prevent overheating.

On the second Friday of each month, you can visit the centre, interact with exhibitors and browse products in a relaxed atmosphere. Every date wll also include a free guided tour of the new educational zone and an opportunity to attend seminars.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) offers the chance of a free personal consultation with an architect to discuss ideas for designing and building your own home, renovating or reconfiguring your existing home, creating extra storage, introducing energy-solutions and adding value in a strictly no obligation 25 minute meeting.

OUR PRODUCTS
When building such an airtight and well insulated home, some sort of balanced mechanical ventilation is required, without losing heat. Total Home Environment were asked to help.Our systems are naturally hidden within the PassivHaus, however you will be able to see our equipment running, specifically you will be able to see:
- Genvex heat recovery ventilation - unit in plant room, ceiling terminals in the rooms, controller next to the kitchen on the wall and intake and exhaust cowls at the back of the house
- Electrolux central vacuum system - unit in plant room, four vacuum inlet points around the house, a VacPan automatic dustpan in the plinth of the kitchen plinth
- Aero air to water heat pump running the domestic hot water (hot water fromt the taps)
- low grade electric underfloor heating - the controllers for the bathroom, ensuites and 1m strip adjacent to the patio doors.
